Neath is a market town in the county borough of Port Talbot which lies in the historic borders of the county of Glamorgan. It lies about seven miles northeast of Swansea and about 20 miles northwest of Bridgend. The town expanded with the arrival of the industrial revolution, with the manufacturing industries of iron, steel and tinplate springing up in the town.
