Expo Hire stocks catering safety equipment for outdoor events, temporary kitchens, market stalls and festival caterers across England and Wales. The range covers CO2 and dry powder fire extinguishers, fire blankets, first aid signage and catering safety signs. Safety equipment is a legal requirement for most commercial catering operations and many outdoor event licences.

What's available

CO2 fire extinguishers suit cooking areas where electrical equipment is in use. They do not leave a residue on food surfaces, which makes them the appropriate type for food preparation areas. Dry powder extinguishers suit general-purpose use and areas where flammable liquids or gas equipment are present.

Fire blankets are a requirement in any temporary kitchen or catering area where fat fires are possible. A fire blanket is the correct first response to a pan fire and should be mounted within arm's reach of any fryer or gas range during service.

First aid notices and catering safety signs cover the health and safety display requirements at food events. Signs indicating fire exits, first aid points, hand washing points and food hygiene notices are available individually or in sets.

When you need safety equipment

Outdoor events with commercial catering stalls are required by most licensing authorities and event organisers to carry fire safety equipment at each stall. A fire extinguisher and fire blanket are the baseline requirement for any stall using gas cooking equipment or hot oil.

Temporary kitchens at weddings and corporate events in marquees or dry-hire venues need fire safety equipment in the kitchen area. Venue hirers and caterers are each responsible for their own area, so check with your venue about what is already provided before ordering.

Festival sites generally require event-wide safety equipment as part of the event licence. Individual traders and caterers are usually required to supply their own. Check your event's safety brief for the specific requirements before booking.
