Street Parties are something that has come back into vogue in recent years, with numerous recent events such as the Platinum Jubilee in 2022 bringing people together to celebrate in this way. With the Coronation of King Charles III to be held on May 6, 2023 we’re expecting more street parties to be held in his honour.
Organising a street party doesn’t need to be difficult and at Expo Hire we can help you with all the event hire you need to make it a success.
What kind of furniture hire would be suitable for a traditional outdoor street party?
Once upon a time, it was a case of getting together any old trestle tables, covering them with what linen there was available and then putting all the chairs one could find around the house around them. While there is nothing inherently wrong with doing that, it does mean if the Great British climate decides to bless us with rain on the coronation weekend, then everything is going to get damaged and potentially ruined.
It's for this reason we recommend using tables and chairs that are specifically suited to being outside. Our folding beer bench and table sets are made from specially treated wood which can cope with rain if it should come and are designed for large groups of people to sit around. The benches are made with three folding legs for extra strength, while our beer tables are wider than others on the market to make them suitable for street party food.
While many street parties will have residents bringing home cooked food to share, our wide range of outdoor catering equipment is helpful for those in need of extra cooking space. Our gas barbecues and griddles are perfect for cooking outside, while display fridges and undercounter fridges are good for keeping the drinks cold.
What furniture for hire would be best for an indoor street party?
With the weather being so unpredictable, it’s not hard to imagine that many coronation parties will take place indoors. While the vibe won’t quite be the same as the traditional street party there is no reason that an indoor party can’t be as much fun.
For indoor coronation parties, we recommend using banqueting tables. Our rectangular banqueting tables are perfect for recreating the style of the long table for everyone to sit around, while our circular tables are great for getting the most people possible around tables in a smaller footprint. Our banqueting chairs match these tables perfectly and offer a comfortable place for guests to sit.
Our banqueting tables for hire are strong and sturdy but require covering with linen for formal events. We’ve detailed what size linen fits individual tables best on their product pages to help customers get what they need easily.
Our wide range of electrical cooking equipment is perfect to augment a kitchen, whether it's a turbofan oven to bake those cakes and pies or a carvery unit to serve delicious roasted meats. We also offer counter fridges with intergrated work surfaces to help maximise space in small kitchen areas.
