Expo Hire stocks street food catering equipment for market traders, festival caterers, pop-up food businesses and outdoor event operators across England and Wales. The range covers gas fryers, flat-top griddles, hot dog rollers, heated display counters and mobile serving units. Gas bottles are available to hire alongside all gas equipment.

What's available

Commercial gas fryers handle chips, chicken pieces, coated snacks and doughnuts at volume. A twin-basket gas fryer runs off bottled gas and produces consistent results across an outdoor service. They suit fish and chip traders, chicken operators and any stall where fried food is the main offer. A twin-basket fryer produces around 12 to 15kg of cooked product per hour.

Flat-top griddles cook burgers, sausages, bacon, halloumi and flatbreads in quantity. They are among the most versatile pieces of street food equipment, working well for burger vans, breakfast stalls, falafel stands and Mexican food operators. A commercial flat-top griddle handles 20 to 30 burger patties at a time.

Hot dog rollers hold and display hot dogs at temperature while cooking the outer casing. They suit high-volume outdoor sites where fast, visible service matters. Heated display counters keep cooked product visible and warm at the point of sale, reducing waste and improving service speed during quiet periods.

The streetfood range covers full counter setups for operators who need a complete front-of-house display alongside cooking capability.

Events that use street food equipment

Festivals and fetes are the primary market for street food hire. Stallholders need cooking equipment that works off bottled gas, withstands outdoor conditions and produces food quickly during service peaks. The flat-top griddle and gas fryer combination covers most menus.

Garden parties with a street food theme use smaller versions of the same equipment. Street party hire and community events often need multiple cooking units running simultaneously to feed a large number of people in a short window. Gas cooking on bottled gas is the practical choice where mains connections are not available.

Ordering and gas supply

Gas bottle hire is available alongside all gas cooking equipment. A standard gas bottle lasts approximately three to four hours of continuous use on a medium-output gas fryer. Order an extra bottle as backup for events running longer than three hours. Expo Hire delivers street food equipment across England and Wales. Book two to three weeks in advance for festival season orders from May to September.

No need to worry about security deposits

There’s no need to worry about a damage deposit when placing an event hire order with Expo Hire. Instead, we run a free minor damage waiver scheme to cover minor damage or loss, so you don’t need to worry if you break the odd glass or plate. We do charge for excessive or negligent loss or damage at 10x the hire price. Please check our terms and conditions for full details.

How delivery and collection works

Working out delivery costs is easy with Expo Hire; simply use our carriage calculator to find which of our branches is near to you. Tap your postcode in and it will confirm not only whether we cover that postcode or not, but also which of our 11 branches is closest to you and the cost for delivery from that branch, as well as the list of possible extra charges. Heavy furniture like sofas or equipment like large fridges will require a second person in the van and this will be added in the checkout.

Once you have filled your basket and confirmed your delivery dates and postcode in the checkout, we will show you an itemised cost for delivery so you know exactly what you’re paying for before you place your order.

Want to know when your delivery is coming? You can track your driver using our real time maps on the day of delivery and collection. Simply enter your postcode and order number into our order tracking page and find out when our driver will be with you. You can also use the link we send you by automated text.
