Start Planning Your Event Today

Event organisers, caterers, and private hirers planning a formal dinner, wedding, or corporate event often need specific cutlery for each course. The correct knives ensure guest convenience and support dining etiquette. Expo Hire cleans individual knives; you use them straight away. You manage a successful event.

Knife Finishes for Your Event

Knives from Expo Hire come in two distinct finishes. Your choice influences the table’s aesthetic and formality. We prepare both types before despatch.

Polished stainless steel knives offer durability and a contemporary appearance. They suit large banquets, busy outdoor catering, or events requiring hard-wearing tableware. The stainless steel finish maintains its lustre with frequent use. We machine polish each stainless steel knife. It arrives clean and ready.

Clients often choose silver plate for weddings, VIP events, and fine dining that demand a classic table presentation. The plating gives a distinct shine. Our team hand-polishes these knives. They have a bright, elegant finish for your event.

Individual Knives

Your menu dictates the knives you need for each guest. Expo Hire supplies dinner, dessert, steak, fish, and butter knives.

  • Dinner Knives: Standard for the main course. These are the largest knives in a place setting. For example, our popular Bead Pattern dinner knife measures 23.5cm, offering a comfortable grip for main dishes.
  • Dessert Knives: Guests use these for starters or puddings. They are smaller than dinner knives. You use them for lighter courses like pastries, fruits, or cheese.
  • Steak Knives: A serrated edge defines these knives. They cut meat courses such as steak, lamb, or poultry. Their sharp blade helps guests cut tougher meats.
  • Fish Knives: Fish knives have a distinct paddle-shaped blade; they separate fish flesh from bones. They help guests manage delicate fish dishes.
  • Butter Knives: Small, non-serrated knives sit on the side plate. Guests use them for spreading butter or pâté onto bread rolls. Their blunt edge spreads butter without mess.

Plan your order considering the number of courses. A two-course meal needs one dinner knife and one dessert knife per guest. More elaborate menus involving fish or steak require adding the appropriate specialised knife for each guest. You should also account for any extra knives for serving dishes or as buffer stock.

Expo Hire cleans knives and packs them to maintain hygiene. You receive them ready for placement. After your event, you re-pack the used knives for our collection. This service removes the need for you to wash, polish, or sort cutlery. This service frees you to manage event execution.
