What's available

Champagne flutes are the standard choice for most events serving sparkling wine. The tall, narrow bowl retains carbonation and concentrates the aroma at the rim. A standard flute holds 150 to 200ml and suits a reception pour of approximately 125ml. Flutes are the most hired champagne glass type and suit weddings, award ceremonies, corporate receptions and most formal events.

Coupe glasses have a wide, shallow bowl and a shorter stem. They suit events with a vintage or retro aesthetic, cocktail receptions and events where sparkling wine is being served as part of a cocktail rather than neat. Prosecco glasses are a slightly wider, more relaxed version of the flute and suit casual celebrations and outdoor events where a less formal glass is appropriate.

The champagne glass range covers all current styles and quantities.

Events that use champagne glass hire

Weddings need champagne flutes for the reception drinks and the toast. A wedding for 100 guests needs 100 flutes as a minimum. If wine glasses are being used for a champagne toast rather than dedicated flutes, the flute quantity can be lower, but a separate champagne glass gives a better presentation and retains carbonation through the toast better than a wide wine glass.

Award ceremonies use champagne flutes for the arrival drinks and sometimes again during the evening for toasts. A gala dinner for 150 guests needs 150 flutes for the reception alone. Product launches and brand events serving sparkling wine on arrival need flutes at the door for a simultaneous handout to guests as they arrive.

School proms and private celebration events use champagne glasses for the occasion. Even where non-alcoholic sparkling drinks are being served, a proper glass improves the experience.

Quantities and ordering

Order one flute per guest for a single reception service. If champagne is being served at multiple points in the evening, order 1.5 per guest or plan a wash cycle between services. Expo Hire delivers across England and Wales. Book at least two to three weeks ahead for large weddings and award events.
