What do I need to know about exhibition catering equipment hire?

The most important thing to bear in mind when ordering any electrical equipment for a trade show or exhibition is your power requirements. Your exhibition organiser should be able to advise what power sockets you have, and what amount of power you can draw. You should check this against the power details for our equipment to make sure it will be fine to run off the power supplied. While things like fridges and cold water dispensers don't draw much power, coffee machines can draw a high wattage and it's important to make sure that you'll have the supply needed.

All of our electrical equipment is PAT tested regularly, with the date of the last test written on a sticker affixed to the plug. All of our items run off a standard three pin UK plug unless stated, and manuals can be supplied should they be needed.

There’s no need to worry about a damage deposit when placing an event hire order with Expo Hire. Instead, we run a free minor damage waiver scheme to cover minor damage or loss, so you don’t need to worry if you break the odd glass or plate. We do charge for excessive or negligent loss or damage at 10x the hire price. Please check our terms and conditions for full details.

How delivery and collection works

We offer a fixed carriage charge irrespective of actual mileage to many of the major exhibition centres in the UK which includes timed delivery and collection. You can check if your exhibition centre is covered by this scheme by entering the venue postcode on our carriage calculator page. For the majority of exhibition centres, this fixed delivery charge is £100 and there is a minimum order value of £500.

When placing your order, it’s important to give us your hall and stand number. This way we can deliver to and collect directly from your stand – even if you are not there. The day of delivery should correspond to the setup day of your exhibition, and the day of collection should be the breakdown day.

Want to know when your delivery is coming? You can track your driver using our real time maps on the day of delivery and collection. Simply enter your postcode and order number into our order tracking page and find out when our driver will be with you. You can also use the link we send you by automated text.

Pay just 25% deposit when placing orders in advance

Planning a big event in the future? At Expo Hire we can help you secure your event hire booking quickly without it costing the Earth. If your hire charge is over £500, you can now book your hire equipment with just a 25% deposit, paying the remainder up to 28 days prior to delivery.
