If you’re serving food at your next event or occasion then you’re going to need plates of some description. We’ve worked hard to bring you the biggest range of plates in different sizes, shapes and colours.

What ranges of crockery do Expo Hire offer?

Different themes at events concentrate on different colours, and it’s for this reason we offer a variety of ranges of crockery hire. Our ranges have been chosen to suit the widest range of colour schemes possible, and feature all the items of crockery we think you’ll need for your table setting.

We currently have three ranges of crockery available. Our standard range of white porcelain is very popular for formal events and occasions but we have found more and more frequently customers want something a little bit more than plain white crockery.

For those looking for a bold and striking look our Graphite range of crockery stands out. This range of crockery is made from dark grey porcelain, which offers a modern stylish look. Whether used as a contrast against white linen or as part of a bolder colour scheme, this range of crockery is eye catching and will draw your guest’s eyes to the food on offer.

Our Storm range of crockery offers a calmer and more understated alternative. This range is made from light grey porcelain and gives a splash of colour to tables without being overpowering. This range of crockery suits a more rustic and cosy setting, and pairs well with muted colours.

What do I need to know about plates for hire

Plates come in lots of different shapes and sizes but there are some standards that you can use to plan your plate hire needs. The smallest size of circular plate we do is are six inches in diameter and are commonly used as side plates of bread plates. Eight inch plates are used for starters and desserts, while ten inch plates are used for main plates for meals. If your guests have big appetites you might choose to go for the 12 inch version instead.

Square plates are often used for meals, but care must be taken when deciding what to use. These are measured diagonally, so the size given is for corner to corner rather than side to side.

You can also choose if you want winged plates, which come with a raised area which is used for holding them, or straight plates.

Do plates for hire need to be cleaned before they are collected?

Cleaning crockery is not only a bothersome chore, but it is the main reason why any crockery gets broken while out on hire.

For this reason, we have made it compulsory for all crockery items to have the send it back dirty option added at checkout. All we ask is that food debris is scraped off plates, bowls etc and all liquids are emptied out prior to repacking ready for collection.
