What's available

Tea cups and saucers suit any event with a traditional tea service: funerals and wakes, village fetes, afternoon tea parties and post-dinner tea at formal dinners. A standard tea cup holds around 200ml. Coffee cups are slightly smaller and serve a standard 150ml espresso-based drink. They suit corporate events, conference breaks and post-dinner coffee service.

Espresso cups hold 60 to 80ml and are used where a small, strong espresso is being served rather than a longer coffee drink. Mugs suit informal coffee service at conferences, training events and breakfast meetings where a more relaxed register is appropriate.

The afternoon tea range covers cups and saucers alongside plates and tiered cake stands suited to formal afternoon tea service. All cups and saucers are available in white porcelain as standard, with contemporary finishes available in the graphite and storm ranges.

Events that use cup and saucer hire

Conferences are the primary use case for cups at scale. A full-day conference for 100 delegates needs cups for morning break, afternoon break and post-lunch coffee: typically 200 to 300 cups in circulation through the day depending on the wash cycle available on site.

Funerals and wakes rely heavily on cups and saucers. A wake for 80 to 100 people needs 100 to 150 cups for tea and coffee service, accounting for guests who have two cups over the event. Corporate meetings with clients in attendance benefit from proper cups and saucers rather than paper cups, even for a small boardroom group of 10 to 15 people.

Quantities and ordering

Order cups at a ratio of 1.5 to 2 per person for events with a continuous beverage service through the day. For single-service events like post-wedding breakfast coffee, 1 per person is sufficient. Expo Hire delivers across England and Wales. Book at least a week ahead for conference and corporate event orders.

No security deposit

Expo Hire does not charge a security deposit. A free minor damage waiver covers minor damage and loss. Excessive or negligent damage is charged at 10 times the hire price. Full details in our terms and conditions.

Advance deposit
