Funerals and Wakes

Funerals are a difficult enough time as it is, without worrying where to get things like water boilers or cups and saucers. We make it easy for you to hire serving equipment to help take some pressure off

Funerals are an unfortunate fact of life, and while they are times of sorrow and grief there doesn’t need to be any stress about organising a wake or reception for the mourners.

What can I use to serve food and drinks at a wake?

While funerals and wakes are a time of mourning, they are also a celebration of a person's life. It might be the last thing that anyone wants to think about, but we're here to help making this as easy as possible.

If you are offering mourners tea and coffee, we have the right equipment for you to make this simple. Our water boilers allow you to have plenty of hot water on tap for making tea and coffee, while our stacking cups and saucers are simple and efficient ways to serve. We also have a wide range of teapots, coffee pots and milk jugs so that your guests can help themselves.

Can I get extra chairs and tables for a funeral service?

Another consideration for a funeral or wake is the furniture available at the venue. It may be necessary to hire chairs and tables to cater for guests, in which case Expo Hire can help.

For when you need seating we have various options available. If budget is at minimum then our black or white folding plastic chairs offer the most basic solution which can be used indoors or outdoors. For a more comfortable approach both our banqueting and conference chairs combine a tasteful understated look with comfort. We have a large stock of banqueting tables for hire, which when paired with linen make a tasteful place for people to sit.

How delivery and collection works

Working out delivery costs is easy with Expo Hire; simply use our carriage calculator to find which of our branches is near to you. Tap your postcode in and it will confirm not only whether we cover that postcode or not, but also which of our 11 branches is closest to you and the cost for delivery from that branch, as well as the list of possible extra charges.

Once you have filled your basket and confirmed your delivery dates and postcode in the checkout, we will show you an itemised cost for delivery so you know exactly what you’re paying for before you place your order.

Want to know when your delivery is coming? You can track your driver using our real time maps on the day of delivery and collection. Simply enter your postcode and order number into our order tracking page and find out when our driver will be with you. You can also use the link we send you by automated text.
