Guiseley is a town in the Metropolitan Borough of the City of Leeds, lying within the historical boundaries of the West Riding of Yorkshire. It is located south of Otley, to the northeast of Baildon and to the southeast of Ilkley. Lamp manufacturer Crompton Parkinson was a major employer in the area; however their factory closed down in 2004. There was also a pram manufacturer called Silver Cross in the town until they closed in 2002.
