Expo Hire stocks five table types, covering the main formats used at weddings, corporate events, outdoor events, conferences, and exhibitions. We hire all tables by the piece, with delivery across England and Wales and collection after your event. There is no minimum order.
The 5ft round (60-inch diameter) is the most common table in event hire. Each seats 8 to 10 guests and works well for wedding receptions, gala dinners, charity balls, and corporate award nights. Round tables suit most venue floor plans and work at both intimate gatherings and large-scale events.
Pair 5ft rounds with white or ivory tablecloths from our linen range. Most wedding planners and venue coordinators specify them as the default round table, and we carry enough stock to supply large multi-room events.
The 6ft round (72-inch diameter) seats 10 to 12 guests. It suits events where you want fewer tables but higher capacity per table, or where the room is large and you want to fill the floor plan without overcrowding. Corporate dinners, awards ceremonies, and large wedding receptions all work well with the larger round format.
The 8ft trestle table (96 x 30 inches) is a folding straight table used across a wide range of event set-ups. Common uses include buffet runs, catering stations, registration desks, and exhibition tables. For long-table layouts at Shabbat dinners, Seder tables, or rustic wedding banquets, trestle tables placed end to end create a continuous run that fits any room length.
At large events, allow one 8ft trestle for every 40 to 50 guests on a buffet line. This keeps queuing short and gives catering staff enough room to work.
Poseur tables are tall stand-up tables, 110cm in height, used for drinks receptions, networking events, exhibition stands, bar areas, and festival hospitality. Guests stand around them rather than sit, which keeps movement flowing through a space and works well when you want the room to feel open. They are a common choice for pre-dinner drinks at weddings and corporate events.

Standard rectangular folding tables (6ft x 2ft6) suit catering set-ups, registration areas, DJ booths, merchandise counters, and any functional area that needs a flat surface. They fold flat, making them easy for venue staff to move and store.

These figures allow for a mix of 8 and 10 guests per table. Round up rather than down. On top of the dining tables, most events also need a top table (one or two dressed trestles), a cake table, and working tables for the caterer. Add one or two spares to cover late guest additions.
For 6ft rounds seating 10 to 12, divide your guest count by 11 for an estimate and add two tables for contingency.
Tables are rarely ordered on their own. Expo Hire also supplies chair hire and linen hire on the same order.
