Everything you need to host a brilliant summer party.
Summer parties are wonderful things. They bring people out, get them talking, and celebrate the best of the British summer, whatever the weather decides to do. From a relaxed garden barbecue for a few close friends to a larger corporate gathering on the lawn, or even a significant anniversary celebration, the right equipment makes all the difference. It’s about comfort, about style, and about making sure your guests have a great time without you worrying about the practicalities. Expo Hire is here to supply everything you need, so you don't have to buy things you’ll only use once or twice a year. We deliver across England and Wales, and collect it all afterwards. Simple.
\n\nLet’s think about tables first. For a sit-down meal, you’ll need something substantial. Our banqueting tables are sturdy and reliable. The 6ft round tables are a classic for a reason, seating up to 10 guests each. They’re great for encouraging conversation. If you’re going for a more formal long table setting, our 8ft x 2ft rectangular banqueting tables are ideal. These seat around 8 people. We also have 5ft round tables, which seat about 8, perfect for smaller groups or when space is a bit tighter. For a more informal, standing reception or a cocktail style event, consider our poseur tables. These tall, slender tables come with matching bar stools and create a relaxed, sociable atmosphere. They’re fantastic for drinks and nibbles, and they don’t take up too much space. Don't forget about the tablecloths to go with them. We’ve got white, black, and a few other colours to suit your theme.
\n\nChairs are important too. They’re not just for sitting on; they shape how the whole event looks in photographs. For a more formal party, our Chiavari chairs are a popular choice. The black Chiavari offers a smart, classic look, while the white is fresh and airy. If you're leaning towards a rustic or country feel, the Cross Back chair in oak is a real favourite. It looks natural and relaxed, especially at garden or barn events. For a modern touch, the Wishbone chair adds a sculptural element that’s very photogenic. If you're having a buffet or a more relaxed, stand-up gathering, you might not need chairs for everyone, but it's worth having a few around for older guests or just for people to rest their drinks on. Our stacking chairs are practical for this, and we also have sofas and lounge furniture for a really comfortable, chilled-out vibe. Think about setting up a little seating area with a couple of sofas and some coffee tables – it’s a great focal point.
\n\nIf your party is going to be outdoors, especially in the British summer, you need to think about comfort and the elements. Outdoor furniture is key here. We have picnic benches which are great for a BBQ feel, and also some more casual bistro sets. But the real hero for unpredictable weather is patio heaters. Even on a mild evening, they can make a huge difference to comfort levels. They radiate a good amount of heat, extending the usability of your outdoor space well into the evening. And for larger gatherings, or if you just want to create a dedicated outdoor zone, gazebo hire is a very sensible option. They provide shelter from sun or light rain, defining a space and offering a bit of protection. We also have BBQ hire if you're planning a proper cookout.
\n\nCatering equipment is another area where we can help. If you're planning a buffet or need to keep food warm, consider our warming equipment. We have chafing dishes, which are brilliant for keeping hot food at the right temperature. For drinks, we have beverage equipment like urns for hot drinks, and also fridges and freezers. Fridge hire is essential for keeping drinks cool and any perishable food fresh. If you're serving a variety of drinks, from wine to beer to spirits, you’ll need the right glassware. We have wine glasses, champagne flutes, beer glasses, and cocktail glasses. Hiring glassware means you don't have to worry about running out or washing up a mountain of glasses. Just rinse and return. We also have crockery for serving food – plates and bowls in various sizes. And don't forget cutlery.
\n\nFor a more sophisticated drinks service, think about a bar. We have bar units that can be set up to create a dedicated drinks station. Couple these with bar stools and you've got a proper setup. We also supply bar accessories, like ice buckets and bottle openers, which are essential for keeping things running smoothly. If you want to add a bit of flair, consider our LED furniture. LED cubes and tables can be lit up in various colours, creating a modern, atmospheric look, especially as the evening draws in. They're a fun talking point.
\n\nThe process with Expo Hire is straightforward. You browse our website, select the equipment you need, and tell us your delivery date and location. We'll deliver it all to your venue. On the agreed collection day, we'll come and pick everything up. You don't need to clean anything; just give it a quick rinse if there's any major food residue. It’s about taking the stress out of event planning so you can focus on enjoying the party. We’ve been doing this a while, so we understand what works and what doesn't. We’re here to help you get it right.
\n\nWhat if the weather is bad?
\nWe recommend having a contingency plan. Consider hiring gazebos for outdoor shelter, or ensuring you have enough indoor space for your guests if the weather turns. Our patio heaters can also help make outdoor spaces more usable even if it's a bit cool.
\n\nDo I need to clean the equipment before you collect it?
\nA light rinse to remove any obvious food debris is appreciated, especially for crockery and glassware. However, you don’t need to do a full wash or worry about deep cleaning. We’ll handle the professional cleaning.
\n\nHow far in advance should I book?
\nIt’s best to book as early as possible, especially for summer events which are very popular. Popular items and dates can get booked up quickly. For peak times, we recommend booking several weeks or even months ahead.
\n\nCan you deliver to any venue?
\nWe deliver to most venues across England and Wales, including private homes, community halls, and corporate sites. Please provide your full address and venue details when booking so we can confirm delivery arrangements.
