From booking early to tracking your delivery driver, here's what to consider when ordering wedding hire for spring and summer events.
Spring means warmer days, lighter evenings and weddings. We start seeing customers browsing our catalogue for chair hire linen and catering equipment hire for their weddings from as early as January. With that in mind, here is a guide to getting the most from your wedding hire.
We can guarantee that from April until September we will be pushed to capacity. Wedding hire orders come in thick and fast, and however hard we work to maintain stock levels and delivery availability, there will come days when we have to close the book.
To help, we have built up stock in key lines such as banqueting tables and chairs and improved delivery scheduling so we can serve as many customers as possible each day. There are still finite limits, so booking sooner rather than later is always the right call.
For orders of £500 or more booked more than 28 days in advance, we offer a 25% deposit scheme to help spread the cost. Orders can also be amended up to seven days before delivery, which takes some of the pressure off if numbers change at short notice.
Most wedding reception hire orders cover some combination of the following:
We offer delivery and collection of wedding hire seven days a week, with order tracking so you always know where our driver is. Automated texts go out both in the morning and when we are on our way.
Our recommendation is that delivery is at least the day before the wedding and collection the day after. For weekend weddings, Friday delivery and Monday collection fits neatly within the standard three-day hire period. Delivery the day before means any issues can be sorted well before the event, rather than discovered twenty minutes before the wedding breakfast is served.
Talk to your venue coordinator before confirming your delivery slot. Some venues have restricted access windows, preferred delivery bays or rules about when equipment can be brought in. Knowing this in advance means we can plan a slot that works for everyone.
For marquee weddings, confirm who will be on-site to receive the delivery. Equipment left without a recipient can cause problems. Someone needs to check quantities on arrival and sign the delivery note.
We do not work on a quotation basis. All stock levels and pricing are visible online, which means that if a product shows as available for your dates, we will have it. There are no hidden charges: all costs are shown on the checkout screen before payment details are entered.
If anything is unclear, our customer service team is available via live chat and will be glad to help.
Orders can be amended up to seven days before delivery. If your guest count goes up or down in that final week, contact us directly and we will do what we can. We cannot always guarantee amendments within seven days during peak season, so the earlier any changes are made, the better.
If you ordered with a buffer built in, 10% extra crockery and cutlery, for example, you are less likely to need emergency amendments in the final days. This is the simplest way to protect against last-minute headaches without significantly affecting your overall budget.
If a professional caterer is handling the wedding breakfast or evening buffet, speak to them before placing your hire order. Caterers often supply some items themselves, or have specific preferences around crockery sizes and glassware types. Duplicating items wastes money; gaps in provision cause problems on the day.
A short conversation before ordering will clarify exactly what is needed from us and what the caterer is bringing. We are happy to provide a full list of what we offer to share with your catering team.
