Ince was home to a railroad wagon works opened in 1870s, which built and repaired wagons until it's closure in 1980. The town is home to a number of listed buildings, including Peel Hall and Peel Cottage which dates back to the 14th or 15th century, and the Britannia Bridge and flight of seven locks which were built in 1816.
