School Prom Equipment Hire

A school prom in a hired hall needs the right furniture to look the part. Poseur tables and bar stools, LED colour-changing furniture, and a VIP arrival area transform a plain room into something that feels like a proper event. Most of the equipment hires for a single-day rate.

What You'll Need

Proms typically combine a standing mingling area with occasional seating, a dance floor, and a photo setup. Sit-down dining furniture is rarely needed, so the focus is on poseur tables, bar stools, and decorative pieces.

• Poseur table hire — round poseur tables are the standard for prom nights; place around the edge of the dance floor for guests to gather around
• Bar stool hire — one stool per person at poseur tables for seated guests; one stool per two guests for a mixed standing and seated arrangement
• LED furniture hire — colour-changing LED poseur tables and bar stools add atmosphere without a fixed lighting rig; they run from batteries and need no power cables
• Glassware hire — large jugs for soft drinks; tumblers and highball glasses for the bar area
• Linen hire — tablecloths for non-LED poseur tables; coloured linen to match the prom theme
• Catering equipment — serving trays, ice buckets and bar accessories for the drinks station

Planning Your Order

For a prom of 150 students, plan for 15 to 20 poseur tables placed around the perimeter of the dance floor, with bar stools for roughly half the guests. LED tables work well as centrepieces nearest the dance floor, with standard poseurs filling the rest. Keep a clear area in front of the entrance for the arrival and photo setup.

A red carpet from the entrance to the main room, with rope barriers on either side, gives the arrival moment structure and makes for good photographs. If you're setting up a dedicated photo area, a few LED poseur tables alongside a backdrop give guests something to pose with.

School halls and village halls both suit prom setups. Check the ceiling height before ordering LED furniture with stands, and confirm where the nearest power outlets are for any equipment that needs charging before the event starts.

Delivery and Collection

Expo Hire delivers seven days a week to all areas of England and Wales. Delivery and collection starts from £40, calculated at checkout by distance from the depot. The standard hire period covers delivery the day before your event and collection the day after.

Book 2 to 3 weeks in advance for prom dates in May and June, as school event hire picks up quickly across that period.
