Driffield is a market town in the East Riding of Yorkshire. It lies 29 miles east of York, 23 miles north of Hull and abut 53 miles northeast of Leeds. The town is of Anglo-Saxon origin, and is mentioned in the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle as where King Aldfrith of Northumbria died in 705 AD. The town is centred around Middle Street, which has both chain and independent outlets. There is a market held every Thursday in the town centre and there is the largest one-day agricultural show in the UK held in Driffield every year.
