All catering and bar equipment is supplied on a dry hire basis, for trade customers and experienced operators.
Expo Hire supplies catering and bar equipment to trade customers, event caterers, and experienced operators. All equipment is hired on a dry hire basis. Equipment arrives clean and in tested working order. Expo Hire does not install it, connect it to gas or electrical supplies, or operate it on your behalf.
We are the cheapest option, not always the right one. Dry hire works well for experienced operators who already know the equipment. If you are not confident — if you have not used commercial catering equipment before, or you are not sure you can get it working on the day — we would genuinely rather you used a full-service hire company instead. They cost more, but they will set the equipment up, make sure it works, and deal with any problems. Calling us on the day of your event because you cannot get something running is a situation neither of us wants.
Our gas, electrical, and dispense equipment is for people who already know how to use commercial catering equipment. That includes professional caterers, event production companies, hospitality businesses, and trade customers running licensed events. It is not suitable for domestic users or anyone without hands-on experience of commercial appliances.
If you have not operated a gas burner, a commercial oven, or a draught beer system before, this is not the hire for you. We would rather tell you that upfront than have a problem on your event day.
Expo Hire hires gas equipment including BBQs, gas burners, and LPG ovens. Gas bottles can be supplied alongside the equipment. The customer is responsible for the connection and safe operation of all gas appliances.
For temporary outdoor use with a portable LPG cylinder, a competent person with experience of LPG connections can make the connection. For fixed or semi-permanent installations, the connection must be made by a Gas Safe registered engineer. If you are unsure which category your setup falls into, contact us before ordering.
Expo Hire does not provide gas connection services, does not send an engineer to your site, and does not give telephone guidance on gas connections or troubleshooting.
Electrical catering equipment including hot cupboards, electric ovens, and glass washers must be connected to an appropriate power supply by someone who understands the equipment's requirements. Check the product specification before ordering to confirm voltage, amperage, and plug type. Most commercial catering equipment requires a 16A or 32A supply and is not suitable for a standard domestic socket.
If you arrive at a venue and the power supply is inadequate or incompatible, Expo Hire cannot provide a replacement appliance or a refund on those grounds. Check your venue's power supply before placing an order.
Beer coolers, font systems, and CO2 or mixed gas dispense equipment must be operated by someone with direct experience of commercial draught systems. That includes knowledge of gas pressure settings, keg connection, line cleaning, and fault finding.
Expo Hire supplies the equipment. We do not connect gas lines, connect kegs, set pressures, or provide guidance by phone on dispense operation. If dispense equipment cannot be operated by the customer due to a lack of experience, it will not be replaced or the hire refunded on those grounds.
All equipment is supplied clean and tested. We deliver to your venue and collect afterwards. Written product specifications are available on request before you order, and we recommend requesting them for any gas or electrical appliance you have not hired from us before.
We deliver across England and Wales. Delivery charges depend on distance from our depot. Enter your postcode at checkout for a quote, or call us and we can confirm costs before you commit.
If you are not sure whether you have the facilities, power supply, or experience to operate a piece of equipment, call us before placing an order. We can talk through what the equipment needs and help you decide whether it is right for your event. We would rather have that conversation beforehand than deal with a problem on the day when we cannot help.
Live chat is available 8am–8pm, seven days a week. Outside regular office hours (Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays), 9am–5pm) only a limited number of tasks can be completed — technical equipment problems must be raised during office hours. If your event is on a weekend, make sure everything is tested and working before our office closes on the Friday. If there is any doubt about your ability to operate the equipment unsupported over a weekend, please use a full-service provider instead.
