Every Expo Hire order includes a free Minor Damage Waiver. It covers accidental damage during normal event use — a dropped plate, a scuffed table, a chipped glass. There is no excess, no claim form and no charge.
Other event hire companies charge 2 to 3% of the order total for similar cover. We include it on every order because accidental breakages are a normal part of event use. Building it into our pricing model means you're covered automatically, without paperwork.
Accidental breakages of crockery and glassware. Minor surface scratches on furniture. Minor wear consistent with normal event handling. These are assessed when items return to the depot and written off against the waiver.
Loss or theft. Malicious or deliberate damage. Severe structural damage to furniture. Water damage to equipment left outside in rain. Damage to cooking or specialist catering equipment beyond normal use.
For items not covered by the waiver, charges are based on repair or replacement cost, assessed on return to the depot.
We don't require a security deposit on any order. There is nothing to put up against potential damage and nothing to reclaim after the event. The Minor Damage Waiver covers the risk of everyday breakages as part of the hire.
