Hire full-size stainless steel chafing dishes for weddings, parties and corporate events. Keeps food hot throughout service. Order online.
A full-size stainless steel chafer for hot buffet service. The 9-litre capacity suits serving main courses, side dishes, and sauces for groups of 50 or more. Compatible with all standard 1/1 gastronorm pans. The water bath keeps food at a safe serving temperature throughout service without drying out or burning the contents. Chafing fuel is sold separately — see the 2-hour fuel or 6-hour deluxe fuel for longer service periods.
Place the frame on a flat, heat-resistant surface. Insert the water pan and fill with hot water to about one inch below the rim. Position two fuel cells underneath and light them. Lower your 1/1 gastronorm food pan into the water bath and fit the lid. The steam bath circulates heat evenly across the pan base, keeping food at 70°C or above without scorching. Allow 10 to 15 minutes to preheat before guests arrive.
For service periods over two hours, use the 6-hour deluxe fuel cells rather than the standard 2-hour. Swapping fuel mid-service is straightforward — lift the water pan slightly, replace the spent cell, and relight.
Allow one full-size chafer per dish type on a hot buffet. For a standard three-course buffet of 8 main options, you need 8 dishes — plus extras if you want to hold starters or sauces separately. Allow 1 full-size chafer per 50 guests for each dish type when dishes serve equal portions. For higher-demand items, add a second dish running in parallel to avoid empty pans slowing the buffet line.
Also available: the roll-top chafer for a more formal presentation on top tables, and the 12-inch round chafer for sauces, gravies, and smaller dishes.

Unless the two person carriage charge has been paid for, deliveries and collections are made by a single driver, who has 15 minutes to deliver or collect your order.
Our drivers are not allowed to take items up or down stairs or use any lift without prior approval, and all deliveries need to be made within 50 metres of the vehicle. Any delays beyond the standard delivery time caused by access issues or items not being ready will be charged at £120 per hour or part thereof.
If a driver arrives and delivery or collection is impossible then unfortunately a wasted journey charge will apply. You will be sent a live tracking link so you can monitor your delivery in real time — our drivers do not make phone calls to notify of arrival times.
If access to collecting the hired equipment is denied, blocked, or impassable, a wasted collection journey will be automatically charged. Any parking tickets issued to vehicles whilst executing a delivery or collection will be charged for whilst we appeal.
